Waterloo

I have some ruts I do not want to get out of:  the grilled salmon with snap peas, broccoli and rice, the stir-fry bowl (add grilled chicken), and Santa Fe salad (add grilled chicken) are three of my favorites.  But that said, I have never had a bad meal here.  The appetizers (for the table) are always delish and the choices by my fellow-diners have received enthusiastic receptions.  We regularly bring out-of-town guests here and are confident they will enjoy the food as much as we do.  The take-out is predictably good.  I don’t like seeing a fee (apparently new) for the take-out container, though.  Should I bring my Tupperware bowl over?  Like a bag charge at the grocery, I guess…

I have like this place for a long time. I do business lunch is here. I enjoyed the rooftop. Tonight, I brought my wife here for the first time. The food was pretty good. She really liked The ambience. We took some friends out to dinner and they really liked it. Josh, the owner, stopped by our table. Owners should do this.  The little girl at the table next to us was concerned that there weren’t enough pictures of women. Overall, a wonderful occasion. This is our waiter. He was a bit rough and dismissive but we still had a good night despite his lack of manners.

We went to Waterloo for lunch after a morning of adventuring near Longs Peak yesterday!

As always, the service was outstanding, very courteous and professional without hovering.

We were impressed with the selection of wines and very pleased with the Waterloo Red, which is a California Cab!

The husband had tacos, which he loved.

I had the Waterloo burger, and next time I’ll remember to order my burger med-rare, because the Medium cook rendered the burger a bit dry, but my bad!

The fries definitely should have been salted immediately upon retrieval from the fryer.

But overall it was a good experience

We brought our relatives from out of town here tonight for drinks. The service was HORRIBLE! The first time we went in the bartender totally ignored us so we tried a  different place but since it was almost closed we  came back in for a second try. We sat at the bar for a full 15 minutes, NOTHING no greeting or acknowledgement. He finally threw some menus at us and continued to  ignore us and converse with another patron about his travels in Germany. This guy talked so long with the other patron that we could recount his entire conversation.  We ended up confronting him about the lack of service and was threatened with him saying he was calling the police. I hope the owners know that this guy cost them  a hefty bar bill not to mentioned a great tip. It’s disheartening, because we were so adamant about the hospitality in the general area and it was certainly not the case tonight. This place definitely did not want our $$$ so we’ll gladly spend it in another establishment.

We took my nephew and his girlfriend here in old town Louisville, and absolutely loved everything.  My wife has the Santa Fe Salad, I had the Maui fish sandwich body were excellent.  My nephew had the street tacos and his girlfriend had the another Mexican plate, both very good.  Old town Louisville has a lot of great restaurants.  Very nice place to visit.
