Just okay. Nothing special about this joint. I haven’t tried the juices so this is based solely off the shakes. For starters, $30 for 2 smoothies.. lol.
My bf and I tried the mango lassi and strawb/banana shakes. Both were bland and not sweet at all – which is fine, but flavor is still seriously lacking. Really curious if I came on a off day but nothing about Punchbowl would entice me to be back. I don’t think I would come here again.
I love the combinations they choose for their smoothies here, and the fact that they’re not sweet, almost at all. I also love that not everything has banana or vanilla or frozen yogurt in it (I think the whole menu may actually be vegan, but don’t quote me on that).
It is expensive, yes, but on a morning I have a Punchbowl smoothie, I’m not usually hungry until late lunchtime. It’s like eating a full meal. They also fill it way past the top of the cup.
Only once have I managed to NOT order the mango saffron lassi, which will ruin you for all other mango lassis you’ll ever have with its cashewmilk base, orange blossom water, and big chunks of coconut meat. That one time, I ordered the cinnamon blossom and it was just as good. Despite having dates in it, it too managed, miraculously, also not to be super sweet.
Place used to be very good years ago….girls that work there seem to be on more heroine than the homeless outside
WOOOOOW so so good!!!! This will now be my go to spot when I’m craving a chocolate smoothie. Their entire menu is all organic and vegan! They also have pressed juices. Great service and a quite ambience, definitely be back for more of the Cinnamon Blossom Smoothie
What happened to this place ??! It feels very dark and I thought I walked into a seance shop. Lord have Mercy. Plus my drink was horrible. What a shame…. Punchbowl used to have the best smoothies years ago.
My friend got the green “shake” and it was full of salt. We both tried it and it was undrinkable. The person working agreed that it was too salty and shouldn’t be under the shake section but the owner is very “specific”. We asked for a refund or exchange a different drink and the employee again blamed their inability to offer either on the “owner.” Well the Owner should re address their policies to favor the customer because they just lost two.
I thought I knew true beauty but I had no idea what that was until I tasted my haalva shake from Punchbowl. Holy cow. The best $11 shake I have ever had in my life and worth every penny. Many shakes are not worth $11 but this was was. I will probably stop by to get a shake every time I am near here for the rest of my life unless I’m to broke for an $11 shake. I highly recommend this place.
Love love love this place. Especially the Greek coffee. Staff is super helpful and the quality is top notch. Only difficulty can be finding parking.
WORST PLACE EVER!!! I DONT EVER RECOMMEND GOING HERE! I used to come all the time when I was in the area ive tried most of them and I love their flavors and today I happened to drive 35 minutes from Sherman oaks all the way over here just to get a smoothie because they have some of the best smoothies! But I guess not anymore. The workers there are literally brain dead and don’t know what they are doing: I walked in and he said let me know if you have any questions I said is the mango lassi a sweet option and he said uh ya it’s sweet it has dates I can put less dates if you like and I said no I’m actually looking for a sweet option so if it’s sweet that would be great and if you can make it even sweeter and he said ya we can do that. So than I ordered it and I drink a couple sips and I thought I was crazy but I had my friend drink it too to make sure and it was NOT SWEET AT ALL. It was extra tart and sour! It literally tasted like lemon. It tasted like a lemon smoothie and if I had wanted something sour and tart I would have asked for it so I went back to them to let them know that this is not what I ordered and I would like to have it remade correctly and the girl said sorry I can’t remake it or do anything for you to fix the situation because the owner Jay is an asshole and can fire me for doing that. I’m like what? I can’t drink this and I asked you guys before ordering to double check and make sure that I’m getting something sweet. They then continued to repeat how rude and mean the owner is and how he always yells at them and that they’re not allowed to remake smoothies even if they mess up on it. I literally was so appalled I could not believe how nasty and rude they were! I literally wasted $13 on a smoothie that I gave back to them! You won’t believe what the girl said to me! She said oh that sucks for you that you wasted money on something that you can’t drink. I was so shocked I could not believe this was happening. And the vibes in there are super dark and depressing. It’s a disturbing atmosphere honestly I will never in my life go here again and I don’t think you should either!

It’s pricy, but it’s that good, you decide not to care about it . I lived in the neighborhood for years, but haven’t noticed this place. I would suggest to put a little A-board on Vermont avenue to let people know that you are there selling these goodies. Because you can’t really see it being tucked in.
