CLOSED ON SUNDAY! Don’s Deli needs to update their hours! They are closed on Sunday. I learned the hard way when placing an online order for pickup. I arrived a few min early and the place is completely locked up with chairs stacked on tables. What a waste of time and gas.
okay, love the food at don’s deli (except when they changed the vegan meat option to nuggets it made no sense) nuggets on a sandwich?
anyways, the music is SO UNBELIEVABLY LOUD. it is so loud that we cannot eat there in person. we can’t even hear each other. it is so loud that when we call in an order, EVERY TIME the person on the phone cannot hear us and asks us to repeat ourselves several times. we can hear the music bumping in the background.
i get it, music is awesome. listen to it! but make it so that you can hear your customers and that people eating in your restaurant can hear each other. i know a lot of young people work at don’s, but you can still be super cool and hear your customers.
also, try and keep the music family friendly? kids come in the shop too.
This is our favorite sandwich place whenever we are at downtown Sunnyvale
Dirty, dirty and dirty. No mask, no gloves!
The place used to be run by some beautiful lady and her partner. Now it’s run by some ppl who have no attention to hygiene. They use the same hand that help you on the cash machine on the register, and with the same hands they make sandwiches with no gloves.
Superrrrrr dirty. You cannot imagine the scene I saw. Behind the register there’s a room and a sink. A lady came out of that room with a big lettuce in her hands. The lettuce was packed with dirt and soil, she just stretched out the sink hose did a 1 second rinse on top, she turned it did another less than a sec rinse, and she brought it back in the room and started chopping it, with allllllll the huge piles of dirt on it. I could not believe my eyes!
I used to go to this place hungry for their dirty birds, but today, it really is a dirty sandwich of dirty bird.
Expect to wait over 1 hour for your sandwich to be made. This has been the case every single time we ordered.
I’ve been here a couple of times and leave satisfied most of the time. All of the sandwiches come with a choice of dipping sauces, but I feel like it’s not needed for some of them.
I got the Horsin’ Around special w/ Tri-tip this past weekend. I enjoyed the sandwich. You can definitely taste the horseradish sauce.
The prices are reasonable for the area. I think I paid about $12 for a sandwich in my last visit.
Love the Don’s Delhi. Especially with cilantro lime ranch and curry ranch. Will be back here
you have to try the Don’s Delhi sandwich if you’re in the mood for a vegetarian sandwich. If you get falafel, ask for cilantro lime ranch and curry ranch on side. bread is freshly delicious. highly recommend this spot.
The food is ok but the price is good. I had the chicken chipotle and it was an ok sandwich, the chicken was a little bland. But considering they’re 11 dollars in a convenient location with decent size, I’d say they’re worth a visit if you’re studying at the philz next door, but not worth going out of your way for.
I am a big fan of this place. Going over the menu the amount of sauce on every sandwich scared me but I decided to try it as is and honestly the three sandwiches I tried were great and not “over sauced.”
I would highly recommend them and the oatmeal raisin cookie was on point.
