You get what you pay for, unfortunately. I think you will need beer and sake at this place to mask the flavor of the sushi. It’s not quality fish and may taste like fish (which it shouldn’t). But if you’re not picky and like cheap beer and sake, you might really like this place. One plus is that they have vegan options for people who don’t eat fish.
Best Sushi deli! Come to this one instead of 1 or 2! They have the best customer service quick and friendly
In my opinion the best sushi place in San Diego. We used to come here a lot when we lived in the area. But we moved and everywhere else just didn’t measure up. We were in the area for Yu Spa and had to stop here for food.
They have a really great combo option where you get a few pieces of 4 different rolls. I reccomend the most popular roll combo. It comes w mosp soup when you dine in. I don’t recommend the fries with lump crab on the appetizer list. I left stuffed.

I keep a list of sushi restaurants. Where I get rolls, where I order nigiri, and where I order omakase.
Service is good, they have a decent happy hour, and their rolls aren’t bad! When I was there the rice was a bit on the dry side, but that did not bring down the overall vibe of a reunion dinner with friends.
I’ll certainly come back with the same friends any time that they want to meet up here, but I’m not going to suggest that my other friends go here unless they explicitly wanted a place like this.
I do look forward to coming back, since that means more exciting times with friends and hopefully some fresher rice. Otherwise, I’ll try some of the other spots in San Diego.
The sushi here is just ok. Nothing spectacular.
The happy hour prices are totally worth it though along with some of their happy hour food choices.

Good service. But, all the food looks like it’s been sitting out. Not fresh sushi. But, workers are great.
Lunch specials! Who doesn’t love a good bang for their buck?! In this economy?! Sushi deli has got the fixings for you. They have monthly sushi and bento boxes they also have weekday daily lunch specials that include a drink and miso.
I recommend if you’re in the area. There is patio and indoor dining options. Plus inexpensive with good sized portions. Enjoy!
Dog friendly good sushi and great specials on drinks can’t ask for more! Staff is really nice and helpful parking everywhere so even better
I ordered to go, they did not provide chopsticks napkins anything in the to go box, how am I supposed to eat?
