Ricos Tacos Laurel is a small eatery that serves up various tacos, tortas, burritos, and quesadillas, along with paletas.
We came here for a later lunch, and ordered:
a birria taco
a carne asada taco
a pollo taco
Both the carne asada and the pollo tacos were forgettable – not much flavor, on the bland side, and just not worth getting. However, the birria was pretty tasty! The tortilla used could have been better, but the beef was juicy and tender, and the consomme was probably one of the best ones in the DMV area – super flavorful and hearty.
I like the fact that you can order a birria taco a la carte, rather than in an automatic set of 3 or 4, as other places force you to do.
Staff were friendly, and there were plenty of booth and table seating.
There’s a lot in the back to park your vehicle.

The location is right off route 1. They have parking in the back. Depending on the time of the day you may have to go in check in and wait in your car till the food is ready. This location is spotless as they do have limited seating inside and the tables were constantly being cleaned. recommend this location if you want quality tacos and specifically for birria!
had the chicken tacos on a tuesday, best tacos i’ve ever had. will be going back for sure.
I love this little hidden gem. The birria was AMAZING
They got my order wrong (door dash delivery) and when I called to try and rectify they hung up on me. Tried calling again, no answer. Called a third time and they must have caller id bc I could hear them pick up and hang up.
Not sure what all the hype is about. It’s good but, not great. I had the Birria tacos and it was good. Maybe I expected more because it was my first time, but I wasn’t too impressed. I will be coming back to try other things though, and will update my review accordingly.
We came back after a year! It is still the same, tucked in a small are in laurel. And they still have taco Tuesdays! 4 tacos for $10.00. It is very affordable and they cooked it really well. The ladies were nice.And i saw they have elote loco I was not sure if they had it before but so far it was really good. I appreciate the amount of meat inside with perfect onion and cilantro ratio. It was skimped or anything l. Really hits the spot!
Tried this spot today, overall good tasting tacos. Had chicken and pork. I was a little disappointed with the queso and chips, cheese tasted like nacho cheese sauce from a can. Will definitely go back.
Yo this place is a AMAZING. Everything is made fresh and it’s so tasty. Auntie brought the food to my table and handed me the sauce saying “This is hot and this is hotter”. I love it here and will definitely be back soon.
Work nearby and eat here when I get my car washed. Great menu. Try the birra tacos. Deserves a much higher rating than it has.
