How things change…
12 months ago we had to order a takeaway from Quoi to celebrate this birthday. The food was excellent and so was the packaging. Previous to last year we have visited twice and been really happy with the food and service. This time? Not so much.
The first face we saw was a rather unhappy waiter but fortunately we didn’t have much to do with him afterwards. There was poor communication amongst the wait staff which meant that cocktails weren’t finished before the entrees; an opportunity of a glass of wine with main meal was missed; coffee came out way before dessert. My dessert looked sad; it was the chocolate ? but squished on the plate. Too many wait staff on the one table meant that, apart from us, no one really knew what we were up to in the meal. We were half way though our main before we sighted our side. The best part of the meals we have had over the years is the entree; this year no exception.
I think a set menu of small plates eg degustation is probably the next time they will see us and give a la carte a miss.

OMG.. we had the 9 course degustation. Sublime is all I can say. Too many dishes to describe, but the tartare and barramundi were standout dishes. It’s had to improve on such basic staples of modern Australian cuisine, yet somehow they have managed to do just that. An excellent fusion of Australian ingredients and French cooking techniques that has been jazzed up a little to make it modern and trendy. Fine dining this is most definitely.. and that’s saying something because it’s currently hard to find in the Northwest. Lovely staff, good service, warm
Amazing meal tonight and service. We had a variety of dishes from the charcuterie platter followed by eye fillet, pork belly or venison.
We had a wonderful central otago pinot noir (grasshopper rock) to wash our wonderful meals down.
Great service from all of the team.
We were a walk in tonight and will definitely be back.

We had the degustation with wine and every fish was amazing.
