Good food smells and tastes good. This food has no smell and no flavor! I knew as soon as I walked away from the truck I made a mistake.
Ordered the Cali Burrito. Had NO flavor. added the salsa that came on the side..which also had zero flavor. I had to pour on some hot sauce i found in my kitchen fridge. Cali burrito has french fries in it..but these weren’t your normal french fries..more like pan fried potatoes that looked gray and soggy. Not crunchy like in the cali burritos you find in San Diego. I wouldn’t try this truck again, nor would i recommend it. Cali Burrito was $10.
My first experience with the truck was also at a Sac Republic soccer game vs the LA Galaxy II. My major issues were with the inconsistent pricing, customer service and the extremely long wait.
While I understand they were only 1 of a handful of food trucks there to help assist 20k plus possible patrons they seemed ill equipped to handle the rush. I had friends who hopped in lines at other trucks and had their food 30 minutes before me.
Secondly the pricing, the board read $3 for a street taco of which I ordered 2 and a Pepsi which the board said 1.35. However I was charged $10, and when I questioned the person who took my order as to why the substantial difference all I got was ” That’s what I was told to charge sorry we’re busy” and he proceeded to take another order. I was basically brushed aside and instead of asking for my money back or to talk to someone else I just said screw it don’t want to cause a scene or go wait in line for another 30 .
When I finally received my food, the tacos were hot and definitely prepared fresh to their credit, they lacked any onion or cilantro and the red salsa I received was obviously watered down, so flavor wise they were ok at best. All washed down with a warm Pepsi it left a less than pleasing taste in my mouth.
Their truck was at the inagural Sacramento Republic game. The chicken burrito came out fast, it tasted yummy and i didn’t get sick. Thank you food truck
