Under new management it says, with a tiny grocery store inside the restaurant now too. Fried shrimp was the best of the meats. Chicken was crispy just not tasty. Fish breading was stiff on thin fillets. Okra and fries were hot, fine.  No forks were offered. Unsweetened tea was sticky on the outside of cups for some unknown reason. While nothing technically was spoiled or inedible, you can find better at many places. Only a couple of tables inside; apparently most orders are takeout or delivery. Probably just as well you don’t come inside-it won’t help your appetite.

Not well prepared. Put in air fyrer when got home. Didn’t include my gravy for potatos or ranch dipping sauce for tenders. Building is nasty. Just go to Popeyes.

The food was horrible. I order the catfish with red bean and rice. The fish was not flavorful and the I can not begin to describe the red beans and rice. After I ate there I talked to my brother and he gave them two tries. Each time he said the food was disgusting. Do not go there….One star isn’t low enough…

We ordered a 12 piece of Chicken legs and thighs.  We were told the wait would be 8 minutes, however, it was closer to 30 minutes.  While the chicken was delicious, they shorted us a couple of pieces.  No, I didn’t go back to the store as we were on the extreme west side of Wichita.  We couldn’t get someone to answer the phone.

With that said, the chicken was delicious and hot.  But, if you order make sure you watch them closely as not to short you any food you pay for.  And this is one reason for the three star rating.

Okay so this place is definitely more of a 3.5 to 4 from just the chicken stand point. I have not tried any of their fish or shrimp. I have ordered from this place twice now both with delivery due to Covid-19. The first time I tried their chicken strips, okra, biscuits, and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is definitely the southern “stick-to-your-ribs” kind and very creamy and yummy. The biscuits have a sweeter flavor, perhaps basted with like a honey butter? The fried okra was seasoned well. I did not need to add any salt. As for the chicken strips they were good albeit a bit dry. However, I do know enough to know bone-in chicken tends to be juicier so I wanted to for sure try this place again.

My second time ordering I ordered 12 piece leg and thighs only figuring they would be juicier. I was correct in that assumption! The spicy chicken was spicy and flavorful without being overwhelming. The okra, biscuits, and mac and cheese were just how I remembered. My only qualm about the order was they 100% snuck in 2 chicken breasts trying to pass them off as thighs and they were CLEARLY not thighs and much dryer in texture. I am not sure if they were just rushing to get the order ready or what but I to the untrained eye it might have gone unnoticed. If you are looking for an alternative to the typical KFC or Popeyes I would definitely give this place a try. I say it’s for sure a notch above.

I’ve ordered carry out from here twice. They have great prices and good food. It hits the spot if you are looking for anything breaded and fried.

I never usually write reviews either but tonight we ordered dinner from here. I asked for two sides of ranch and each 2 oz container has maybe a teaspoon of ranch. A TEASPOON. I’ve never seen something like this before so I thought I would say something. It just seems very weird. I called, not really to just complain but to make sure they know someone isn’t filling them correctly or that if they ran out, they should just call. I got a “Sorry about that. Have a good night.” in response. It is just a condiment but, like I said, really weird.

I like the chicken and t the gumbo. The gumbo ask for it with out rice or half of it will be rice not soup. The red beans and rice but it was like can chili beans heated up not Cajun but the chicken is worth coming back for.

I have been going to the one on East Harry. The building is an old Long John Silver’s restaurant but nicely refinished.
The owner will come out to chat with me occasionally. Very friendly and he aims to please his diners.
I usually have the number 3 combo of chicken strips in mild spice flavor.
Mild spice is a little too much for me but doable. Personally I wish they would offer chicken with no spices but then it wouldn’t be Louisiana style, would it?
Overall a great dining experience.
I would like to see them open another restaurant on east Douglas in Old Town but his building lease will not expire for a few more years so will have to wait and see what happens.

Don’t waste your money! This food was beyond disappointing and someone should be shot over what they call Gumbo. Their Gumbo is a total insult to true Louisiana flavors and Gumbo is known for. The regular chicken has NO flavor and the spicy was a joke and all was dry. Not only was the food disappointing but every step I took inside I found my shoes stuck to the floor and when I grabbed a chair to sit down it was sticky too! YUK! It was nothing but down hill from there and I won’t ever go back.
