Jo’s Saloon

I’ve been going to Jo’s for the past 5 years. Its really changed since the new owners took over. I love that they have daily special’s, which include items not on the regular menu. Their regular menu is more extensive then what you might expect from a bar. Although I have tried many items on their menu, which were all great. My all time favorite is their steak bites with fries or jojo’s. YUM!!! It’s nice to have a place that is close by to enjoy a meal, socialize

Who wears a mask while eating? No restaurant requires it to be in there. Walk in with a mask and take it off. Masks do not do anything but block dust.
Proud Boys are not terrorists. Stop it!
I think I’ll check out the new offerings like Bingo on Thursdays and Karaoke. I’m going to try their pizza next time.
Don’t cry if you don’t get all the attention you want from wait staff. I’m sick of you gripers. Grow up!

I have written a review a long time ago, then after reading all the other reviews, mostly the bad ones, I have to say, I LOVE THIS PLACE EVEN MORE!  Those who want to bitch and moan about the mask mandates should just stay home. If you think a mask is going to prevent you from getting Covid because you’re sitting at the table, you don’t need to patronize this business. The staff having masks or not will not prevent you from getting Covid. You know what will? Staying home and ordering your food to go.  Is the service slow at times? Yeah… Even those of us who go there often have to flag down the staff. But you know what? The food is amazing and they have great attitudes. My husband and I go there often BECAUSE they aren’t bending over for the government and the Karen’s out there who just want to complain about ridiculous mandates. Stay home!! There are plenty of us that are done with this nonsense and that’s why we go to Joe’s. Don’t listen to any negative reviews. This sports bar is like having a home with your own sports bar attached. It’s comfortable and if you want to be nasty, don’t go. They have a regular clientele. They are always pretty busy, and it’s a great place to be yourself where “everybody knows your name”. It’s the 2000’s version of Cheers. I just don’t understand why people that are scared of Covid even go to a bar. So annoying!!!! Joe’s is our favorite place! All the food is great! The drinks are normal as anywhere, and when you actually get to know the staff, they are like your family. Not a typical kiss your ass restaurant. So if you’re looking for a 5 star restaurant where they wipe your chin for you and pretend to be nice because they want your money, this isn’t the place for you. They are a family run place. A GREAT loving family that owns it and I highly recommend if you go, to go often. The people who work there have worked there a long time. Because it’s AWESOME! Anyway, I read all the negative reviews and it made me mad. But there’s always those who just want to complain about everything.

I’m 61 years old and I just got 86’d from Jo’s Saloon in Milwaukie.  Why?  A couple weeks ago, I questioned their servers why they were not wearing masks.  I admit I was aggressive and probably should have checked my behavior.   They, of course, allowed me to hold my husband’s Celebration of Life on 9/25 following this interaction, but waited until 10/15 to tell me I am no longer welcome at Jo’s because I made other customers “uncomfortable.”  They served my 40 guests and myself all day long.  I am not a regular at Jo’s so this is not super upsetting.  What is upsetting is that they chose to wait until tonight.

PS:  Following my ouster tonight, they allowed a group of Proud Boys in the bar.  The Proud Boys are categorized as a domestic terrorist group by the FBI.  The owners are anti-mask, anti-vaxx and support the alt-right movement.  How many people were “uncomfortable”because of the presence of the Proud Boys??  Please use your judgement whether to patronize this establishment.

In the 15 minutes I wasted in the place I watched an employee without a mask touch their face and handle clean dishes behind the bar and serve food. I had to cancel my order and leave, no covid protocol being followed at all at this place
