This is a super cool little gourmet and their food is delicious. I wish they were open more and had more flexible hours but that is my only complaint. Great little hidden gem on Columbia Pike. Get the spaetzle—it is SO good. Recommend this place for sure if you like good, homey German food and finding fun gourmet treats. Can’t wait to go back.

So second time going; really hoped the first time was just a fluke and it would be better than the first time when my husband got really poor service (and bad attitude) from both people working at the time. This time they got the order wrong but he didn’t realize until he got home. Tried calling and got a recorded message with no option to speak to someone before they hung up. Food isn’t bad though it is overpriced and with the poor customer service, really can’t recommend. Only reason for any stars is because the food isn’t terrible. Such a shame, we were really excited to find a German deli but guess we’ll have to keep looking.

Cute little place. Their deli counter makes tasty sandwiches, and they’re a good deal. They have a variety of European grocery goods even from outside Germany. There’s a 2.75% credit card surcharge. The entrance is around the side, so even though posters cover the front windows, it is open.

I was very disappointed at my visit today! The store inventory is very low and the Christmas was almost non-extant. I walked out without purchasing anything. The Base Commissary, Lidl, and World Market all had a better selection.

Unfortunately very overpriced and a lot of their groceries are only the German supermarket own brands but for a very verge high price.

I was in the store on Sunday and bought teawurst and Teli salami and Gelbwurst. Out of the three, the Gelbwurst was the freshest because it was just opened when I ordered it. The salami was bad by Tuesday and when I opened the teawurst, it smelled weird and tasted very bad. This is very disappointing because of how much it costs and this is not the first time I have had this experience. Sad to say that I mostly likely will not be spending anymore money there.

Really loved the Alpine cheese melt. Husband had the Rhinelander and would get it again. The Tyrolean was also delicious and a favorite at the deli. Mother ordered the Zungenwurst with tongue to take home and it was scrumptious. Made her homesick for Germany. The Deli workers were very nice and helpful. This is a jewel of a place for German takeout!

The wait at the register and especially at the deli to get served is horrendous especially when it’s only 3 customers in the store. Pricey yes but then again imports aren’t cheap. Very large and good selection on German sweets, meats and cakes If you don’t mind the waiting definitely worth wild giving it a try.

Really like this place. I’m going to have to find reasons to be in the area at lunchtime so I can explore the menu more. I had the weisswurst and nuernberger sausages. Liked the weisswurst better but both were good. They have 18 different sausages to choose from! As well as sandwiches and desserts.

Quaint German Delicatessen with a wide variety of German products. I took my mom who was like a kid in a candy store. This place is cramped and it was very popular on a Saturday. Bring your patience for the deli counter as the line gets long. Apparently the tickets are for all the counters – the deli, the cheese and the dessert counters. The staff is quick and helpful. They also have a selection of wines and beer. We will be going back as my mother will need her German food on the regular. 🙂 I enjoyed it as it brought back memories of my childhood with my German family and traveling to Deutschland.
