Horrible service. Great food, but won’t go back for the indigestion the service caused. They’ve gone downhill.
Good people of Portland/ Beaverton, welcome to your next favorite restaurant (if you haven’t already been).
Ernesto’s is a classic, and it solves a lot of problems elegantly.
1. A comfortable physical space. Ernesto’s is COMFORTABLE – booths, nice décor, wide open space, nicely-appointed. The bar area, especially, is so inviting.
2. Classic southern Italian food. Good luck finding chicken parmesan, lasagna, eggplant parmesan, etc. in the Portland area. What the heck is wrong with people? Ernesto’s has a HUGE and classic southern Italian menu that hits all the high points. They also have items for picky eaters, kids included, who might want a burger or potato skins. (Thank you for appreciating the need for potato skins in the world!)
3. Nice people. The servers at Ernesto’s WANT to help. They WANT to be nice to you. Why? Because Ernesto’s knows how to hire good people. When we were there the other night, we interacted with two servers, and both of them were lovely and helpful and smiled, and paced the meal just perfectly. Makes all the difference. I don’t care how good a restaurant’s food is – customers never come back unless servers are nice and gracious and helpful and happy. At Ernesto’s, you get all of this and then some.
4. Homemade food that is DELICIOUS. This is where Ernesto’s really shines. They have been around so long because THEY KNOW HOW TO COOK GREAT FOOD. There is a knowledge base, a reference point for what works, and recipes that have stood the test of time.
5. Fair prices. They are there to earn a living, not fleece people, as is all too common these days. More and more restaurants are gauging people in the name of “everything costs more these days,” but Ernesto’s has found a way to earn a good living while not alienating their patrons. Bravo, Ernesto’s, and thank you.
6. A homemade cheesecake that is in the pantheon of great cheesecakes. All I’ll say is: have Ernesto’s’ cheesecake. (You’re welcome.)

Love the staff as much as the food. The pizza was great, along with the pasta. Good beverages, too! Will keep going here!
Love the food, great service and prices! I love the poppyseed dressing on the spinach salad, it’s not on the Grubhub menu though.
horrible experience. our group had been there for several years but never again. food not all that great and not homemade, but biggest reason is accusations of sexual harassment by one of the guests. if anyone touches an employee, even accidentally……sexual harassment. end of story!
I’ve always gotten great food from Ernestos until today, hence the two stars rather than one. I ordered soda, cannoli, and fettuccine alfredo through Grubhub. The cannoli was missing from the order, the alfredo sauce was curdled and the pasta was an overcooked lump…disgusting. I can’t believe Ernestos let food of this poor of quality go out the door. Unfortunately this incident caused an outcome of me closing my Grubhub account and deciding to never order from Ernestos again. Grubhub refunded the cost of the cannoli and fettuccine but refused to refund any fees. So basically, I paid over $12.00 to have a bottle of soda delivered.
Front desk service is extremely poor and the manager is rude.
Used to come here but won’t ever step foot in here again.
Came here to write a review about rude service and see others have had the same. Look at how they even reply to reviews. Good for them I guess they aren’t hurting for business! … even though the place is empty.
Sadly I’ve come here literally my entire life, but today a Thursday …. When I walk in with my young family with four kids…. In the rain…. I walk in to zero welcome. Zero greeting…… just a blank disgusted stare from the lady running the front desk. I said “we have 6”. She replied “without a reservation?” The restaurant appeared empty. They actually just turned us away. So so disappointing. This is common though for service in the Portland area. These people need a vacation to the sunny south to see how courteous friendly service is given. This is just unacceptable. There is a polite way to let people know they need a reservation. Basic human decency would be nice.
Oh my …I felt like I was in Italy. Everything was great the service and food. Especially pizza nothing compares…..
We tried several plates and lasagna was to die for….
Great customer service I called a head of time and left a message. They called me back saying they will have a table waiting for us. We got there and everything was ready with water cups to fresh bread waiting for us. (We we’re starving too). First time being here and we are definitely coming back.
