two locations on fisherman’s wharf…one near the entrance and another inside towards the middle…a line on busy days, but moves relatively quickly…it’s dreyer’s ice cream at tourist prices…prices starting at $6.75 for single scoop of ice cream…toppings adding $2.25 each…add a waffle or chocolate dipped waffle cone and prices will skyrocket…might be better to have proper sundae at ghirardelli down the street…

After having a great day at pier 39 we were about to leave when my daughter screamed – ICECREAM looking at Dreyers store.
I ordered a 2 scoop in a cup with toppings like chocolate nuts and sprinklers.
Flavors – chocolate and cookies and cream.
Cookies and cream was good. Chocolate flavor was different – it was more like dark chocolate then milk chocolate.
Toppings were very very less. Too much
Very less seating and the store was def expensive.
I would try a diff store next time now.

Just what we needed after a long walk to cool us down

Malt shake for me with pralines and cream flavor. Not happy with milkshake kinda watered down. I didn’t taste any malt in it and I was expecting a nice creamy fullness of ice cream.

I don’t know why they are getting such bad reviews? Is it because the workers have no patience for you? Is it because they expect you to know what flavor of ice cream you want the minute you walk up? I mean really, is that a hard ask? No, of course not! You know you want mint chip in a waffle cone dipped in chocolate. You know you’re not going to be adventurous, so just order and you will see, this place is way better than 2 stars.

I wish they had almond mocha fudge! Butter Pecan was good in a waffle cone. Shortly after taking this photo a seagull attacked and got my ice cream. The man at the shop gave me a new ice cream.

Didn’t put whipped cream when the display photos show one. When asked this is what I got back as if a huge favor…aren’t doing a good job.

I went to the main shop (not the small stand) today and purchased ice cream. I had a double scoop in a cup and, when I got down to the second scoop, I saw what looked like a hair embedded in the ice cream. Gross. I pulled at it and what I found was worse: it was the legs of a bee! It fell on the ground, but there was still ice cream on it, so I took a picture, so I could show the cashier when requesting an income. When I went back, I told the person who helped that there was an insect in my ice cream.

A senior staff member, Allan, (my best guess) came in the conversation. I showed him the pic and he was insisting to see the bee in person. I was trying to keep my voice low because there were other people in the store. But, Allan was kind of giving me a hard time. It was frustrating. It’s not improbable that insects can fly into the store, as the door remains open during store hours and it’s right on Pier 39 (I’m from San Francisco, so I’ve been here before).

Only after I showed him the bee (in person, still in Ice Cream) and after he stopped it back up and put it in the eaten cup of ice cream that we went back to the shop that he gave me my refund and only then did he say sorry.

To say this experience was disappointing would be a profound understatement.

The ice cream might just be a amazing or good as the other reviews say. Although if you’re on the pier looking for something warm and cozy to keep you warm, and you look at the menu and see “hot chocolate,” run away from this place. I was expecting the hot chocolate to be hot or at-least warm. The hot chocolate wasn’t even at the near the right temperature to be considered warm it was cold and just made with water. I ended up taking two sips but it was just so cold i ended up throwing it away, for about $4 i would expect my hot chocolate to be hot.

Pretty good ice cram! Especially today because it was 86 degrees in San Francisco!!!

The variety of ice cream was good and I was able to sample a couple of different flavors. The cherry was yummy and so was the strawberry cheesecake! It was hard to make a choice but I went after my favorite flavor-pralines and cream.

The waffle cone was a big disappointment. It was very thin and brittle and it tasted burnt. I wish we could give half stars because I would give it 3.5 stars. To pay over $6 for a single scoop I expect perfection.

I stopped by while walking through Pier 39 to see the Sea Lions.  The service was quick but I was there during a weekday afternoon.  I got the cookie dough ice cream in a small cup – it was a bit expensive for how much you get.  However, considering that it IS on the pier, it makes sense that the shop would upcharge their ice cream.  The ice cream was quite creamy and not as sweet as I anticipated it to be.  It’s nice if you need something to cool you down from a very long walk.  I wouldn’t go out of my way to get the ice cream here again because it’s quite expensive.  It was just convenient since it’s on the pier.

I would rate it a 3.5/5
