Doppio Zero is definitely a restaurant I would come back to. We were seated right away on a 4 pm Sunday afternoon. However, the lines got really long by the 5 pm dinner service.

The restaurant is a little pricey for the amount of food you get but overall it was really good. I ordered the Marechiaro Pasta (10/10), probably the best pasta I have ever had in the US. The homemade squid ink tagliolini pasta was cooked al dente, the jumbo scallops and clams were fresh, and the tomato sauce was very rich and flavorful, plus it had a small kick to it. The tomatoes they used for the dish were also very sweet and juicy. My friend ordered the Il Ragu (10/10), which I also tried. Again, the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was very creamy and the Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese blended really well with the braised Pork Ragu meat and pasta. However, the Salsiccia pizza (6/10), was not as impressive. The ingredients of the pizza were all really high quality and tasted fine, however, the pizza itself was soggy in the middle and fell apart too quickly.

Overall the service was average. The vibe of the restaurant had a nice ambiance, great for date night. The pasta was the biggest highlight of the restaurant, would definitely come back just for it!

The food is good but expensive for what you get IMO. However, they’re terrible at managing reservations. I had a 6 pm reservation on Saturday night, and they didn’t seat me until after 6:30 even though I checked in at 5:15. They sat a walk-in party at the table that they told me was for my party.

On another exciting night in SF, we were on the lookout for a good dinner spot, and like the true city folk we were, we walked the streets of the city to find something to satisfy our taste buds. We came across Doppio Zero and their unassuming sign outside that read “Michelin guide rated”. We immediately queued up to reserve a table. It was a busy Saturday night so the wait was about an hour, which didn’t bother us since it gave us time to explore the city.

Once we were sat down outside, we asked the waiter for recommendations, and we decided on a standard Margherita Pizza, Braised Rib Pasta, and the Doppio Zero Pizza.

First up, the braised rib pasta. The egg noodles themselves made the dish amazing, and the flavour of the sauce coating the pasta was lovely. Would’ve liked to have seen more meat on it but no big deal, it was delicious.

Next up, the margherita pizza. Whenever we hit up Italian restaurants, we like to order some standard items to see how they handle the classic dishes, and needless to say, this one hit all the marks and then some. The sauce was packed with flavour, and the cheese complemented well, but the star of the show was the crust. Holy smokes, it was one of the best pizza crusts I had ever had! It was crispy on the outside but once you bite into it, it was chewy and had a nice charred, smoky flavour to it. Some more basil would have been good but I’m nitpicking.

Lastly, the Doppio Zero. Hands down, probably the best pizza I’ve ever had, because the ingredients tasted fresh, and the ingredients melded so well together with that delightful crust. The prosciutto wasn’t too salty surprisingly, and the arugula gave it freshness. The cheese was on another level! The flavour and texture of the cheese was indescribable.

So overall, Doppio Zero was absolutely worth the wait especially for their Doppio Zero pizza. The service is good, and the atmosphere is perfect for a nighttime dinner. If you’re ever in the area or even remotely close by, check this place out because it’s absolutely worth the Michelin recommendation!

This has become a Great go to in Hayes Valley. They absolutely love the mushroom pizza.

The ambiance could use better lighting – I feel like it’s too bright (cafeteria lighting not date night) and if they spent a little money on the decor this place would be slamming.

With that said all the food is delicious I really like the seafood pasta, the burrata , the beet salad and the salmon. I’d recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

In the restaurant the foods always solid however when we ordered food for delivery the pizza did not taste the same so I’d recommend only the pastas and salmon for delivery. once they fix the lighting it will be all five stars.

So-so. Food looked great, tasted good. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were nice. Ambience was ok. It was a little noisy because it was a Friday/Saturday night.

Not my favorite Italian restaurant but worth trying.  The croquettes and ravioli were really good.

Alright y’all, I don’t have pictures because I was I too busy eating and socializing. I had been to Doppio zero once before this last time. When I first tried this place I met up with a couple friends on a Saturday for lunch. We had ordered some pizza and a few pastas and everything was fresh and tasty. I thought it would be a great place to do my bridal party get together.

I called about a month in advance to see if they could take a party of 14. I eventually spoke with Alejandro who I believe is a manager there and said 14 would be fine. I called a couple weeks later to ask if I could actually pre order the dishes we would eat that way it would streamline the process while we were there and would not have a long wait. The manager said it would be a perfect idea since they are swamped on saturdays. I also asked if it would be okay for me to create my own mini menus and bring it with me and he agreed as well. I wanted it to be cute so I thought the menus would be a nice touch lol

Our reservation was at 6pm on a Saturday and when some of us arrived they told us our table was still occupied but I thought it was okay since the whole party hadn’t arrived. We had to wait about 20-30 for our table which I would say was essentially fine because we were waiting on people since the parking is terrible in Hayes valley on a Saturday night, but our table essentially should’ve been prepared since we had reservations and I feel that a time limit on parties should be placed.

We sat down and were provided with reg menus to choose drinks, but later the waiter came to grab our order. I had told them we had preordered. Long story short there was some miscommunication and I think that is something they could work on, but everything eventually came out delicious and our servers were great. I would recommend for a big party, just plan a bit and order ahead if possible.

Really great Italian restaurant in Hayes valley SF. We tried both pastas and pizzas. My favorite pasta was the ravioli, which had a smooth creamy truffle sauce. My favorite pizza was the Doppio. The crust was thin in the middle and thicker on the outside, just the way I like it. We also loved the half fried half oven baked pizza, which had a unique crust but okay topping.

Food was ok. Service was ok…nice folks all around from the time we were welcomed and throughout the meal. Not sure it’s worth crossing the bridge, tho. I recognize that many a San Franciscan rejoices at this but hey, I used to live in that neighborhood! I had the mushroom fettuccine special. The homemade pasta was good…great Al Dente. But sauce was a little bland. My daughter had marguerita pizza and said it was just ok.

Cocktail was also ok.

Nice enough for a neighborhood place.

Had a business lunch here and the service and food were great.  Homemade pasta and fresh ingredients.  Had homemade spinach ravioli, filled with wild mushrooms and ricotta, fondue truffle sauce, it was delicious.
