It’s a “family” restaurant chain not really a premium steakhouse. The food was decent. The service was good. The ambience was loud. It was okay.
I grew up with the notation that a Delmonico steak was the best of the best. Well maybe things have changed but it was good – not great. The bread was yummy.
Not sure I’ll stop in again (I come to Albany on business once a year.). I think I’ll try something else.

Just visited again after quite a while away. Used to go weekly but service isn’t what it used to be. Our waitress was quite good but the guy at the door who seated us in the furthers corner of the establishment really wasn’t. We wanted to sit by the windows not in a corner. We mentioned this to our waitress but nothing came of it. After a 92$ bill for two with only one drink each I must say I want perfect service not just good. Perhaps in a few months we’ll return to see if the service got better. How about asking customers where they want to be seated. It wasn’t that busy when we came either. Not sure why things are done the way they are now. It used to be friendlier and they used to care about what the customer thought, now it feels like get in, order, pay and leave. This used to be our favorite place due to outstanding customer service now it’s just like everyone else.

1/2 star reduction because the Frutti di Mare I had was skimpy for $28.00 –Four clams, three shrimp, couple of small calamari, and a very small piece of haddock.
I also did not like the several coarse chunks of tomato in the sauce. The sauce should have been blended to complement the seafood.
My husband had the Veal Parm which was excellent! The veal was very tender and flavorful.
The Calamari Appetizer was okay, not excellent.
The pieces of calamari were very small. The serving of Marinara was skimpy.
The Caesar Salads for $4.99 extra were excellent. You could detect the anchovy flavor in the house made dressing which was delicious. The grated cheese on it was decadent.
The Italian bread and flavored butter were outstanding.
We ordered Utica Greens to go to eat the next day. I heard it was outstanding.
Service was attentive, friendly and 5 Stars.
We sat in a booth by a window which was pleasant.
The decor is cool. The parking especially handicapped was perfect.
So we had a crazy day. We we’re supposed to be on our way to Myrtle beach but our plane got delayed and then canceled.
So I rebooked and without time we went out to dinner! Food was great. We started with the Italian nachos – Bella Napoli which was great.
I had the steak and it was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place again
This restaurant is huge. Therefore, expect a huge wait. I ordered the clams. It was drowned in garlic butter so yummmmmmm. I also ordered the steak , which came with a side of penne pasta. I was hoping the steak would be flavorful. It tastes like an overpriced steak. My daughter ordered the chicken Marsala with linguini. The linguini was good. The chicken Marsala was eh. I don’t think I will visit this place again.
Have been going here since 1995. The Delmonico’s house steak, a rib-eye that is gone up a bit since 1995, was $16.95 then $32.95 now but still a great deal. A big steak with nice amount of fat for taste. Comes with a side of pasta, but I usually sub fettucini Alfredo or baked potato. Also usually get Utica greens; a regional specialty which comes from; Utica. There are many variations but Delmonico’s has a good greens, a blend of spices, escasarole, and cheese. Nice waitresses in the mafia themed garb of short skirts and a fedora. Get a nice cannolli for dessert. Rest of menu is also very good, especially riggis. Never had a bad meal here, always left satisfied!! Good themed steakhouse that does not break the bank-you can have Morton’s; double the price; not as good or a good time.
I haven’t been to delmonicos in a while and I can’t believe it, it was so much better than I remembered. Staff was very friendly and we got seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. Our food came out relatively fast and was so delicious. Steaks were cooked perfectly with the perfect char on the outside. Drinks were great but we didn’t try any dessert although they all sounded amazing. Highly recommend!!!
