Not sure if this place has closed temporarily or permanently. They were closed when we arrived two weekends ago even though they were supposed to be open. There was a handwritten sign at the door stating they were “Sorry we are closed.” This has sadly happened to us twice previously even before COVID-19 and we always try to give them a second (or third or fourth) chance. When we occasionally dined before COVID-19, our dining experience was decent. Their dishes aren’t authentic, but at least they try to keep it authentic. Nice try, though. Paying by cash gives you a small discount.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Lorenz. It would be helpful if you can make a note in your restaurant website that you guys are closed temporarily due to a major gas leak so we don’t have to be disappointed when we arrive at Dai Trang Bistro expecting to dine.

Horrible customer service and long wait for bad food.

30 minutes after ordering we got our lumpia. Asked for spicy suka and the waiter gave me soy sauce sawsawan with onions, tomatoes, etc. We let it go and didn’t say anything cause it was just a teenager working by himself and we felt bad for him.

Waited forever for our food and finally got it and our sisig. The skillet platter it came in was not hot enough to cook the raw egg after we mixed it. I politely asked if they could take it back and reheat the skillet because I’m pregnant, which is besides the point since it’s unsafe for any person to eat raw egg, and absolutely cannot risk it with the raw egg. The sisig was never picked up to get cooked more. Waited around for 15 minutes and I finally went up to the counter to ask the waiter to just give us a refund for the inedible, raw food  and grab the check. He pointed to a sign and I was told they don’t give any sort of refund even though we literally did not even touch the food because it wasn’t safe to consume. He came out with the sisig and said that they stir fried it for me, even after I told him that I will not be taking it especially after it sat around for so long. Talked to a “manager” and their “chef” if that’s what they wanna call themselves who were absolutely rude and did not care at all about safety and customer service. Offered a gift certificate which would be pointless since I will never come back to this place again. Just asked for my check so I can get out of there because it was clearly not going to go anywhere. And I was threatened by their “chef” that everything I said was recorded. Which is GREAT because in addition to my pictures and recordings, now the Department of Health can see it when  they need proof of how this business addresses food safety.

The rest of the food was also so bad and the dinuguan had nasty globs of cold meat (honestly, I’m not even sure what it was). None of the food tasted like authentic Filipino. The spaghetti didn’t taste like Filipino spaghetti.  It was wasteful but we only ate a few bites and left the rest of the food.

Horrific experience and do not recommend this to anyone. The only recommendation I have is for people to stay far away from this place.

Tried to squeeze in a 40 min. round trip visit for lunch before work today. Supposed to open at 11A. Went up at 11:05 and stood in rain for several min. Door locked. Lights off. Called restaurant but no answer. Leave and get a call 15 min. later from them. Was told the kitchen opens at 11:30. I said in 3 separate places it says 11A. On their official website, Google, and on their own front door. Was told they can’t change Google times it’s user suggested but offered no explanation about the errors on their own site and front door or an apology. Won’t be back.

I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Stopped for a late lunch to empty restaurant(should have been our first warning). Air conditioning was set on freezing. No kids menu so be prepared to spend adult prices for a child. Took 10 minutes to get drinks and my Diet Coke was just a can. Ordered chicken lumpia, sorry that’s out you have to take pork. Ordered green curry- 40 minutes later waiter comes out to say that they are out of green curry.. took 40 minutes to figure that out? Gave me red curry instead and it was not good at all. Food finally came out about 50 minutes after arrival. My friend started eating his food and there was a fly floating in it. Waiter asked if he could get him something else and brought him another dish. Check time you would think the check would have been adjusted for all the issues no not at all. Wanted to charge me for fly food. After some talking they took $3.00 off. What a joke, poor service, poor food. Not a way to run a business at all.

Received a ridiculous reply from business saying checked cameras and this and that and drinks were brought out within 4 minutes instead of 10 ( I didn’t have a stop watch sorry and it actually felt longer than that! ) and all Plates and bowls were empty that was not true at all and they know it. The only think that was ate completely was lumpia and the replacement meal for the fly soup! Maybe if this business worked to resolve their flaws at the time of the incident instead of spending way too much time after wards to make excuses and count minutes they would have a more successful restaurant! I gave them more than one chance to fix mistakes and all they have is excuses. Seriously shame on these owners that care more about money than the quality of their food and their customers! I would never eat at this place again and unless you want lackluster food and poor service I suggest you don’t either!

Regardless of what they claim we were in that restaurant for way too long for lunch, but they care more about making excuses than serving quality food and offering good customer service! Maybe next time as an owner or manager don’t hide behind a young waiter and come out and show some respect to your customers by apologizing in person and offering to make it right when things go wrong!

This spot is the ultimate foodie designation!!! Everything was delicious! So many dishes I wanted to try. The Lechon was tender and still crispy enough. They also have a blueberry habanero wing flavor? I think , it’s soo bomb. And I even got to try the “chocolate soup” It was surprisingly so flavorful and I wanted more! Oh and I got to try lychee milk bubble tea, it was so good I wanted another! Check this place out! You won’t regret it!!

The food wasn’t bad. The pork belly was crisp and tasty. Unfortunately the rice was slightly underdone. Definitely get multiple orders of the lumpia!!! They’re bigger than you might expect but they’re too good.

Will definitely try the shrimp and spam musubi next time!!

The food was spot on! I came here looking for some good authentic Filipino food as I used to live in California where one can usually find Filipino food much easier than the midwest. This place was a bit of a drive from Northern Kentucky but in the end was completely worth it. It can be difficult to find as their sign isn’t easy to see far away but keep following your navigator and you will find it. The inside was spartan but definitely safe in these covid times. You order at the counter and they bring you your food.

I ordered the Kare Kare and Lechon Kawali. My friend had the Tofu Bicol Express and a Halo Halo to finish. Lechon Kawali was good! A little smaller pieces than I’m used to but the sauce was excellent. Tofu Bicol Express was also good with just enough spice. But the Kare Kare was to die for! It was so peanut buttery, so smooth, so amazing… I took more than half of it home and it made for at least two to three extra meals. The oxtail did not have bones which made it not as authentic but it didn’t matter much. Halo Halo was not traditional but still very good with all the fixings.

I will definitely come back here to try more!

At first glance this place doesn’t look so inviting, but I decided to give it a go because they had such a diverse menu. Not the typical diverse menus of Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Korean but Vietnamese and Filipino. I tried the pork and chicken Banh Mi Sandwiches. I really like the BBQ pork, the bread had an okay texture, but the sandwich wasn’t loaded. The only thing in this sandwich was the BBQ pork and a couple string of cilantro for $5.25? My sister in law owns a banh mi sandwich stall up north and they load their sandwiches with meat, shredded veggies, sauce, and other Vietnamese goodies I cannot describe for the same price. The sandwich here was as basic as you can make it, bread bbq pork cilantro. The chicken was exactly the same, rotisserie chicken bread cilantro. Basically something I can make myself a home with little to no effort, not impressed. I will give them a good review for the Longanisa. Blind pick but it was pretty good! Simple and flavorful. The garlic rice was a delightful and new taste to me, the red sausage was superb, the fry egg didn’t add much to the combo. Overall I would try this place again, next time maybe the pho.
