We had an unbelievable experience. The food was incredible. At first we were a little intimidated by the menu because we didn’t recognize much. However, our server Jessie took her time explaining many of the dishes to us. At the end of the day most of the dishes were just creative takes on familiar foods, so don’t be intimidated. She provided fantastic service and was an extremely helpful guide in finding the food and drink that fit our palettes. They had some hard to find bourbons to choose from. I also like that they used so many ingredients from local farms and such. The music was fun and the atmosphere was really cool. We had a chance to talk to owner Andrew and talk through many of the Cleveland specific decorative details only a Clevelander would know and fully appreciate. So much of the decor is a nod to the personalities and places that make Cleveland special- pictures, building materials, etc. I highly recommend paying close attention to the little details in the space and then cornering Andrew to ask about them. So many cool stories. It was not just a good meal, but an entire experience. Highly recommend.
Everything about this place is amazing. The cocktails are amazing and the food is incredible! And they place some great music if you are into the 2000’s. The cheese skirt on the box burger is a whole different kind of delicious fun.
We dined at Cordelia on a weekday. The restaurant is beautiful and it shows. The bar is massive and the bar stools are gorgeous. The outdoor area is nice with great table settings. Our wait staff was very alert to our needs and we received our food promptly.
I have mad respect for Michael Symon and loved Lola so much, I was anxious to visit Cordelia. Cordelia is the exact opposite of Lola, and that’s not a bad thing. The eclectic decor and folksy charm is a 180 degree shift from the former restaurant that took pride in its modernity. The menu had some really tasty dishes, but it’s haphazard. There’s no consistent theme. The waiter said that things described on the menu are vague on purpose, which gives the server a chance to elaborate. But the problem with that is that the noise level is so high, you can hardly hear anything but the cacophony – let alone the server. The kitchen is now wide open and also contributes a few decibels, and some mild entertainment. Overall I enjoyed my evening, the country ham, the jammy eggs, and the pork belly. I still have mad respect for Michael Symon, but I didn’t walk away thinking I had just eaten one of the best meals Cleveland had to offer … the way I used to at Lola. But I have hope they’ll get some menu cohesion and maybe a few sound baffles and right the ship. This could be an incredibly fun spot.
Amazing in all aspects.
The staff, food, and service is all top notch. Every part of our meal was 10/10. They go the extra mile in every way and it shows. You will leave here stuffed, unable to eat another bite, just like you would at your grandmothers house. Hospitality done right. We did the Chefs choice sampler and weren’t disappointed on a single dish.
We came to Cordelia before a concert and they were rocking! I sat at the chefs bar with a full view of the kitchen. I had heard a lot of hype about Chef Vinnie and I have to say, he has a really great thing going with the “modern grandma menu” I saw a picture of the jammy eggs online and had to have them. They did not disappoint and even came with a tiny bottle of Black Cap hot sauce. We also shared the oysters, farmers cheese and the burger. Everything was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful and if you are looking for the culinary experience you once remember on 4th street Cordelia is the place to go.
Nice new restaurant. Location is great on east 4th. Service was very good, friendly and quick. Environment was cool, nicely redone. Cocktails were creative and tasty. Food was interesting. The menu is like Grandma’s menu with stuff pulled from her pantry and garden. I would say not your normal menu. Need to be a little adventurous. The dishes I tried were flavorful and they did put a new modern flare to an old item. Just be prepared that it is not burgers, steaks, meat and potatoes.
Phenomenal experience, and my new favorite restaurant in the city of Cleveland. Attention to detail, hospitality, a multitude of locally-sourced, farm-to-table plates, thoughtfully-curated craft beer and cocktail menu, and expedition throughout their open kitchen are highlights. BONUS points for the gorgeous bar and overhead soundtrack. Cannot wait to revisit (10/10).
Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. As a long time Cleveland local restaurant lover, this place SHOWED UP. The wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The food was decadent, and the cocktails were refreshing and well made. Will be back again soon!
