I’ve been dining and ordering to go from this place, the owner Nicky is so nice and very flexible.
Food is good especially the banh mi tofu, the bread is so fresh, crunchy and soft, not the type of bread that is saggy and chewy. I think they bake their own bread.
I also ordered the seafood Pho and it’s so yummy and delicious. The pho is not salty and not oily. Veggies are fresh and very well washed.
The place is clean, and the ambiance is very simple.
Lots of parking and it’s not a problem.
I will be a continued regular customer and I recommend this place.
Delicious!!! And serving was BIG! ordered a entree which was shared between 2 people and we were still stuffed.
Extra Egg cake on the side (recommended)
Spring roll (pork)
Egg roll (pork shrimp) (recommended)
Grilled pork vermicelli with egg roll (recommended)
It came with free cilantro soup (meh)
Pho broth was outstanding. Meat quality was a bit lacking though.
Feedback from colleagues who came with me were the Banh Mi was average and needed improvement.
Surprisingly, only cash payments taken and 15% ‘service change’ for groups of 5.
Very odd
There are tongs of Vietnamese restaurants in Bay Area. Some are great and some are regular. This place is somehow unique. We return to this restaurant frequently even though it’s roughly 20 minutes drive from where we live. We sense this restaurant is a honest family-run business. How could we tell? The owner posted a apology note during the pandemic years for raising $1 for the phos and vermicelli. But their new prices are still lower than many other similar restaurants. From all I can remember, we always come across the smiling staffs and their diligent services. And the foods are delicious and fresh all the time. The settings and environment are plain, but the atmosphere is just like family’s. I like the vermicelli w/ grilled pork
My go-to pho place! My friends and I, about 10 people, came in the morning, and they were able to accommodate us without a wait!
Pros:
– The service is really quick, which we all appreciate.
– They have a variety of choices ranging from rice plates to noodles.
– many drink selections (even coffee!)
– near many places, so really convenient!
Cons:
– Thai tea tasted a bit weird (sour-y?)
Definitely try it out if you’re in Newark!
Found this place to eat near inlaws place on a 105F day. It is right next to Pan Fried Dumpling and Feng Cha. We ordered 3 grilled pork bahn mis to try (requested no pate).
These bahn mis are actually really good! Price is not bad either at 8.50$ per sandwich (more expensive than other places, but I feel that the quality of the meat here is a bit better – not so tendony). Only wish they could have added more pickled veggies and cilantro. The rest of the flavor profile was pretty on point.
A pretty solid Pho place!! Firstly, the name is so cute “Chopsticks”.
I would always stop by here to grab Vermicelli or Banh Mi to go, but recently I finally had a sit down meal here with friends! We walked in with about 10-12 people and they happily were able to seat us quickly and accommodate for all of us even though we walked in super last minute and with a big group!
They have really great service! Super attentive and took care of our whole party! Super patient with us as well since we were a large group! They walked us through the menu, took our order quickly, and made sure to fill up our waters throughout our whole time there without us asking.
I got the Bun Bo Hue! The broth was super yummy, spicy, and flavorful! They give a lot of toppings as well along with the Pho entrees. I really recommend getting this if you are into spicy! It was exactly what I needed after a long day the night prior. Pho is always the best recovery meal!
Aside from this, I got the Viet Iced Coffee w/ Condensed Milk! It was really good and not too sweet! My friends tried it and said that it was too strong, but I am a coffee lover so I dont think it was too strong at all!
Overall, since this place is super close to me and convenient, they have always been great, I will continue to return here! I always enjoy their food and have no complaints!
My go to Viet spot in the area for about 4 years now and the food has never disappointed me in terms of quantity and taste. Granted, I have only ever ordered pho, bun thit nuong chia go, banh mi and bun Bo hue – all delicious and satisfying. Staff has always been friendly and have never made a mistake on my order in person or take out. Consistent and comforting keep me coming back.
I ordered food here a few times, and my favorite has to be their banh mi! I love how crunchy their bread is, and it has just the right amount of pork and other ingredients. I usually have to ask for no jalapeños though haha.. and I always get a thai iced tea here too! Overall, I really enjoy the food here and always had a pleasant experience at this restaurant.
Best Vietnamese sandwich anywhere I’ve tried so far! Haven’t tried anything else’s cause there so good!
