Great food, the people who work there are nice. It’s got a nice frontal sitting area ambiance.
Ordered online, and my wife did so at the same time in error. We called the restaurant immediately, couldn’t reach anyone. Called over and over. Still calling right now. Still no answer. I’m going to have to drive to the restaurant to tell them I need to make a change to my delivery order.
The chicken sandwich was really good, everything else was okay/meh. The chicken sandwich came on a great bun, good coleslaw, pickles, and house sauce. I got medium spice level, which was a nice heat for me. The chicken itself was really flavorful, juicy, and crispy. Yummy.
The fries were stale. The house sauce had way less flavor/tang than I was expecting. It was pretty pricy in my opinion $$$. We also left smelling SO strongly of oil, which didn’t dissipate throughout the day at all.
Chicken and waffles were good. This isn’t a chain it’s a local place. Prices reasonable and quick service
Some of the best chicken I’ve ever had, we stopped in dropping my sister off for school. It wasn’t crowded compared to everywhere else on the street, so we stopped in, and we didn’t regret it at all. I’d recommend the Mac Daddy personally!!
The chicken sandwich is really big so come hungry! I got the hot chikn sandwich and it was pretty good, I think they used a dry rub to get the chicken sandwich to be hot because it was kinda dry and not spicy wet lol. The fries were good but they do intensify the spiciness of the sandwich so good luck! I was they had mustard 🙁
I just moved to Oakland and when I saw this place I knew I had to try it. The restaurant was really cool inside. Definitely a college restaurant, they had a second floor with more tables and tv’s. The staff there was very polite and greeted me right away. I got the chicken sandwich with fries and then I took home some chicken fingers and Mac and cheese because my kitchen isn’t ready yet. The sandwich was ok. The chicken had a heavy batter to it and it was kinda soggy like they took it right out of the fryer and stuck it on the sandwich. The chicken fingers were just that, again nothing to write home about. But the Mac and cheese was amazing. I like a creamy gooey Mac and cheese that will stick to your ribs and this was exactly that! I wish I just got couple of sides of Mac and cheese.
Awesome place to grab fried chicken! I haven’t tried everything here, but I’ll leave a quick review of what I have. Overall great quality and pretty cheap.
Sandwich: Great! Make sure to get it with the sauce and coleslaw, one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had.
Tenders: Honestly could take or leave them but some people swear by them
Nashville Hot Fries: By far my favorite thing to order on the menu. Great value, too.
Fries: Hit or miss, tend to get cold and soggy quickly so wouldn’t order them to go.
Good spicy chicken option in Oakland , medium spice was a joke , choose a higher option if you can handle spice. The buns were too doughy but great sandwich overall , wasn’t a huge fan of cole slaw inside , the chicken Is well seasoned and everything tasted fresh.
first time here recommended by a friend. from the small grass patch outside the food place to the modern music ambiance playing thru the speakers upon entrance, the first impression was good. The menu had a lot if not most of the things you’d want a place call “chikn” to have. tender, nuggies, and what really caught my eyes was the chicken
