Price: Fair
Portion: 2/5
Service: Great (Quick to order, and food came out relatively fast though the place was fairly busy)
Black Pepper Baked Pork Chop with Spaghetti (Has an option with rice as well) – 3/5 – Comes with a free hot drink (Other drinks available with surcharge), cheese and corn was nice
Cons: Too much black pepper and quite small
A wonderful no-frills restaurant where you can get delicious “authentic” Chinese food at cheap prices. It’s also where I’ve had some of the best Asian dishes from portuguese baked rice to flavoursome XO King Prawn hot pot. I will definitely be back!
When I lived in Chatswood, it was the place to get roast duck. They have since expanded but I was very happy to see they have not lost their touch. The staff are the same which is a testament of a good workplace. Roast duck is superb – see photo. We also had fried noodles with BBQ pork and fried rice.
Everything I like about Chinese places. Authentic, delicious, unpretentious, and great value.
Best BBQ duck on the North Shore and the only place to get Chinese BBQ stuff since the Burlington Centre closed up. Try the pork – sensational.
The BBQ pork and duck was really delicious, will definitely visit again!
This place is my favourite Chinese BBQ joint in Chatswood! I always order their BBQ pork… it’s the best in town!
The best food in the place, the BBQ meat, Duck, chicken.
The restaurant was busy, the food came out quickly and the bill was cheap as serving.
Went here after walking past and seeing it FULL of people, and then seeing New Shanghai in the chase overflowing. Overflowing as in take a number and wait half an hour overflowing. (The dumplings there are good but we were too hungry).
The fullness and busy-ness of a restaurants usually indicates success, especially in Chatswood where they are no shortage of chinese restaurants.
We were ushered in and got a seat at the front booth, then given some bland tasting tea which was appreciated nonetheless as it was raining and freezing outside.
Ordered entree steamed dim sim, which were large and hot and delicious, as well as dry fried green beans and shredded pork which was fantastic. Also ordered beef and noodles stir fried in XO sauce which just tasted burnt. Burnt carbon-y wok goodness was the overwhelming flavour. So we sent it back and the waiter suggested singapore noodles as an alternative which we readily agreed to in order to avoid fuss.
It was combination singapore bnoodles and tasted like a dry curry, which was a strange flavour (and probably quite typical unbeknownst to my naive tastebuds). It was really tasty and moorish, I just couldn’t get enough.
Food came out quickly, steaming hot, and the bill was $44 for two people – cheap as servings were generous and probably could have fed three. Waiter took the burnt noodles off the bill on his own accord with no hassle. I saw him take our rejected noodles and a pair of chopsticks so he must have agreed with our verdict.
I reckon the best foods in this place is their barbecue meat such as barbecue pork, peking duck, roast pork, roast chicken
After walking up and down Victoria Avenue for awhile trying to find a place to eat without having to wait in line we settle on this place
FOOD
We ordered the bbq pork, tofu and vegetables, Chicken with egg over rice and beef noodles.
I thought the food was average. Not bad but nothing fantastic. The beef noodles lacked flavour though. Nothing piling on the chilli sauce can’t fix though!
OVERALL
Nothing special about the food but the portions fill you up. I liked how we got to sit in a booth.
