I like this Thai place! Authentic and you can find some dishes that you won’t find in a typical Thai. I recommend this place highly.

I have held off on writing a review for Boran likely because I wanted to see if they were a hit or miss. I am delighted to share that this place is legit.

Last night was a real test as I ordered Chicken Prik Khing and requested it to be Thai Spicy! Now, my past experiences with some Thai places (no names) is that they are reluctant to make dishes Thai spicy for whatever reasons. I could see the hesitation with dine in customers as I know some places have had problems with folks not wanting to pay after complaining a dish was too spicy.

But for takeout there should be no hesitation.  Anyway, I digress. Back to my experience with Boran. I was surprised and absolutely elated that my food was spicy as I wanted. I polished off that Chicken Prik Khing, leaving nothing untouched.

This sealed the deal for me. I now have a second go to Thai spot in Brooklyn. My number 1 spot is Ugly Baby for their fiery and tasty dishes but I am so impressed with Boran that I am putting them on my go to list.

If the owners read this review, I want to thank you for the delicious food I had last night. Please keep on making delicious, spicy food

Authentic and delicious Thai food that are priced reasonably for the neighborhood that it is in. Interior design is warm and gives a nostalgic vibe of Thailand decors. Staff are friendly and nice, albeit often a bit busy rushing around. The appetizer platter is a must-get and is only served as a dine-in option, which was both aesthetically pleasing and delicious with its multiple dipping sauces. The duck curry was decent but not my favorite, for the bamboo shoots was a bit too overpowering in my opinion. My favorite was the special fried rice which I forgot the name of, but if you show them the picture they should be able to tell you. It comes with a mixture of ingredients and you simply mix them together, which ultimately gives you a variety of textures, flavors, and vibrant colors, highly recommended!

Thank you for reading and good luck! (:

I was meandering around Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens with a friend in search of good Thai food, when we eventually found ourselves at Boran. While I had a specific dish in mind before we arrived, quite a few options on the menu, particularly some of the curries and vegetarian plates, caught my eye. Boran is more vegetarian-friendly than many Thai restaurants, offering both steamed and fried tofu or seitan with several items.

I opted for the Gang Keow Wan (green curry) with fried tofu. It contained bamboo shoot, eggplant, bell pepper, and basil, and included rice on the side. The curry was fragrant and flavorful, and the portion size was fair for the price. Personally, I would have preferred more eggplant, but other than that, I can’t complain. Boran satisfied my craving for curry that night and convinced me to return the next time I’m in the neighborhood and in the mood for Thai food.

I absolutely LOVE Boran. I am a big Thai food lover, so I’m very critical of Thai food. They hit the nail on the head every time. Their service is really good, they are friendly and pleasant. The decor is also really nice and that of Thai style. The restaurant isn’t huge but it’s a favorable size where you can feel homely and hang with friends or your date.
