Great New Haven style pizza. The chop salad is also magnificent. Great drinks and staff round out the experience.
We love exploring the different restaurants on eat street! I’ve walked by this place quite a few times but first time coming in and it sure is toasty inside! I should’ve realized since the coal fire oven is out in the open so it heats up the place. I ordered a simple pepperoni with smoked mozzarella, my husband ordered
Not sure why it’s taken me this long to try Black Sheep but for a first time go-er the pizza was pretty good! I’m not much of an artisan pizza gal but I can definitely see why people like it here. My friend and I shared a 12″ pizza and the Caesar salad and that was plenty for both of us. The Caesar salad was actually a pleasant surprise and super flavorful!
One nice thing they let us do too was get mushrooms on just half of our pizza because my friend doesn’t like mushrooms but I love them.
My other friends also got the Tequila Cooler and Mai Tai cocktails and said they were pretty good as well!
No doubt most scrumptious pizza! Wanted to eat here for a long time. In a hurry, so pineapple pizza (wow!) and chocolate brownie dessert! Then off to Children’s Theatre! I’ll be back for more . .
Best pizza in Minneapolis we’ve had thus far. The crust is soft, the cheese flavorful, and the toppings are well spread out. Our order also came with a caesar salad appetizer and that was very delicious as well. My favorite flavor here is the ricotta, sausage pizza but I can’t wait to come back and try the cheese and Sicilian pizzas soon! Plain and simple – good food, good pizza, and good vibes.
It just wasn’t very exciting to me. I got the make your own pizza with arugula and goat cheese. No options for different sauces or drizzled. The pizza was fine but not worth it in my opinion.
My second time coming here in two years, upgraded to four stars. Once again the pizza did not disappoint, excellent pizza! We also had the side of ricotta and honey, a very nice app while you wait for your pizza sipping down one of their many different bears on tap. If your not sure which beer to order they will be more then happy to give you a sample to try.
I love coal fired pizza so I was really excited to try this place out. We ordered
Black Sheep arguably started the wave of neapolitan coal-fired pizzas in the Twin Cities back in the early aughts. It’s fine, but the competition has caught up and there’s better pizza (and beer) to be found.
I do love their sidewalk seating and slightly-above-average beer and cider offerings.
Their 16″ pizza will set you back $19.50 plus an additional $3.50 per topping. They have excellent, fresh vegetable toppings, but they don’t offer vegan cheese or any vegan meats. That said, the pizza you get here will be solid.
But, if you head about a mile west, you’ll find yourself at Fire
Crust was really nice, thin and crisp. Sauce was just the right amount of tangy with a nice herby quality. Cheese when it was there was amazing, just a lot less than I thought since they mentioned which pizzas with/without cheese. I’ll chalk that up to user error. Service was really good.
