Closed full time per their voicemail. It looked good, but it’s not a viable choice anymore I guess.
This amazing little deli is a must stop if you are in the area during lunch. Everything is homemade from the brisket to the pork loin. We had a Cuban and a beef sandwich and split them. Each one was as good as the other. Looking forward to my next trip up with my wife to show her this spot.
It’s a total toss-up as to what is best about BHB: the house-smoked meats? The house-made dressings? The house-made desserts? They’re all so amazing, and every time we go there, we see something else on the menu we want to try. Apparently we need to get sandwiches from here more often. My husband says theirs is the best Reuben he’s every had (and he’s an expert on them!) Their Cuban, the hot beef, Italian combo – all delicious. I guess I’d have to say it’s ALL the best, but need to shout out to the friendly helpful people who work there, and work their charm on these foods. Thanks for being a part of our town that makes us want to come back, time and again!
P.S. don’t forget to pick up some Deep River Chips, they’re great!
Today was our first time going to better half bistro. the sandwiches that we ordered were delicious. We ordered the raunchy and the bhb turkey melt French onion soup. Everything was out of this world and the cookies were the best we’ve had in a while. Definitely our new lunch spot!
This place is a culinary mecca! Haven’t been disappointed yet! The breakfast burrito is amazing and so are the baked goods. It’s a must try!

Went for a day trip to Saville Dam and came across this gem.
I drove right past this place without even noticing it actually. The reviews brought me here and boy I can say they were right!
The food is just as scrumptious as the sign on the window!
We had chicken soup, hot beef and a Cuban sandwich.
The soup was delicious and had the perfect flavor.
The sandwiches were 5 stars in my book and had SO much flavor.
If I lived closer, I’d be here weekly.

I always stop here when I pass through for my fly fishing trips. This place has some seriously good soups and sandwiches. They have an unreal Reuben and they smoke their own meats here. On top of that it feels like you’re in your own kitchen when you walk Inside. They treat you so well and it’s just a homey little restaurant with incredible food and great service!
We were in the area and I got a hankerin’ for a deli sandwich…so we found Better Half. 5 star reviews, so why wouldn’t we give it a try?! First thing I noted was the friendly service. The woman at the counter was seriously friendly to us. We also had a small toddler that we were trying to select a menu item for and she offered us an off-the-menu plate of rolled meat and cheese. We opted for the grilled cheese and soup- mostly because we (mom and dad) wanted to eat the leftovers. The cafe is on the small side but enough seating for a group of people. It was clean and had a well-stocked drink cooler. Our soup and sandwiches came out in a good amount of time and were delicious. We got the roasted garlic and potato soup (garlic is really strong, so not for the vampires and garlic-haters out there) and loved it. We also had the rueben sandwich and the hot Italian. Both had an appropriate amount of meat, were well made, and tasty. We’d order them again. Overall, this was a great little place to stop for a sandwich! Would highly recommend and would visit again!
