We wanted to check out this place
First off, our waitress, Shirley, was amazing. So, it’s family style. We picked the 4 entrees (pot roast, gumbo, chicken and dumplings and fried chicken) and 4 sides (mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, collard greens and creamed corn). The only saving grace of the entrees was the fried chicken. It was soooo good….crispy and delicious. The chicken and dumpling are better at golden corral…that’s saying something. The sides were not much better. The mashed potatoes were not “creamy” at all. I think you could use it as grout for your tiles. The broccoli casserole was pretty yum, though. All in all, it is not worth the 30 buck price tag. We have marked this off of our favorite eateries in Savannah.
Southern cooking done right. Staff provides you with a warm greeting when you enter or leave. Server was courteous and well versed on the menu. She made the meal a pleasant experience. The serving size was more than adequate, the flavors satisfied that home cooked southern meal desire. Dessert is a must the peach cobbler and the vanilla butter cake were delightful. Good stop in Savannah!
We came in while on vacation. I was so excited as I am a big Paula Dean fan. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours because we had to wait 40 minutes for roasted chicken, which we agreed to. But somehow the kitchen lost our ticket so it took over an hour after placing our order. The garlic cheddar biscuits were wonderful! As was the cake. We enjoyed the creamed potatoes. The rest of it was disappointing. Over seasoned, which is very weird for me to say. But the terrible part is the lady’s rest room on the 3rd floor. YUCK! You would think with the price of the food at least they could properly maintain a restroom. The tables in the dining room really need to be replaced as they are well past their prime! To say I was underwhelmed and disappointed is an understatement!!!
It was a little weird that they wouldn’t seat my group until all of my party was in the building when they were standing outside and the hostess could see them from inside.
I read mixed reviews about Lady and Sons, however, my wife picked it a a place to go for a celebration dinner.
Staff was super friendly and welcoming.
The food was great especially the fried chicken. The pork chop, not so much. It comes out in gravy so if you just want fried be sure to tell them in the beginning. We ordered Mac and cheese, collard greens, yams, and broccoli and cheese casserole. The greens were on point!! It is a little pricey and everyone will eat the same thing at the table.
The food was so good! We had the Fried Catfish, Southern Fried Chicken, Green Beans, Broccoli Casserole, Mac N Cheese, Tomato Cucumber Salad and Fried Green Tomatoes. We got the Peach Cobbler and Gooey Butter Cake to go. It was all amazing! Paula Deen’s store is full of fun stuff too! Definitely the best part of our trip so far!
I love their southern hospitality. The service was excellent and the Peach tea is a must try. I love they set up the food portions on the table so you can share with your love ones. I was a little disappointed that you cannot take the left over food home but they don’t rush you to finish it. Their freshly made biscuits are amazing but save it for last so you can have room for the food. We was allowed to take our desert home. I highly recommend and the price is reasonable. Remember parking is a pain in Savannah so must likely it is easier to walk there.
