Social isolation has severely impacted both the local economy as well as the physical and psychological health of our most vulnerable communities. Small businesses have been helping workers through GoFundMe and some are continuing payroll and covering health costs, regardless of being temporarily closed. Many beloved small businesses will shut down permanently without assistance and the Federal Paycheck Protection Program won’t cover them.

Even Marco Rubio, Republican and Chairman of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship said to NBC News: “This is not a Wall Street package. I don’t want to read headlines that the well-financed, well-capitalized companies, because of their ownership structure, were able to suck up all the money and we ran out of money and now we can’t help the small business down the street.”

Well Chairman Rubio, according to The Guardian: “Millionaires and billionaires are set to reap more than 80% of the benefits from a change to the tax law Republicans put in the coronavirus economic relief package, according to a non-partisan congressional committee.”

We all know the current climate of small business is not ideal; in fact the federal government seems adamant to help large companies and not the businesses who need it. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, attitudes and cultural norms are shifting toward a more empathetic view of struggling businesses and communities. We foresee a more connected and compassionate world as local communities start re-opening.

Hyperflyer wants to help; we’re currently building tools for connecting local businesses with people, which will be available in our upcoming product launch. Using automated technologies previously only available to enterprise level businesses, Hyperflyer will make it simple for local businesses to gain increased engagement, loyalty, and foot traffic.

Hyperflyer dedicates itself to what’s worth pursuing in these challenging times, no aspiring business shall struggle to stay afloat.
